Committed to the environment

By seeking eco-responsible synergies with our partners, by anticipating environmental developments and risks, and by measuring and reducing our environmental impact, we are making a strong commitment.

Our aim is to induce a change in our value chain, by bringing each player (customers, suppliers, partners) towards a responsible development approach in business relations or the development of common projects with high CSR added value.

RSPO-certified, we offer the use of sustainable palm oil in our productions. In partnership with local organic farming, we support sustainable initiatives such as the cultivation of Inula montana (a local alternative to Arnica montana), as well as the valorization of invasive plants like elm-leaved blackberry, which we upcycle to extract high-quality antioxidant compounds.
We are also actively engaged in the fields of “slow cosmetics” and solid cosmetics.
By investing significantly in new industrial equipment, we aim to be a driving force for tomorrow’s change.

NATSCORE

For several years, we have been strenghtening our environmental commitment through the implementationof NATSCORE®- our internal self-assessment system. This tool allows us to evaluate every formula in our catalog using strict criteria, with the goal of promoting low environmental impact product.

Our evaluation criteria include:

Natural origin content: minimum 95% ingredients of natural origin (as per ISO 16128)
Number of raw materials used, to a minimum
Exclusion of controversial ingredients: no PEGs, phtalates, BHT/BHA, EDTA, silicones or synthetic colorants
Production process: cold or low-energy manufacturing
Specific formulation: VEGAN, water-free.

Thanks to NATSCORE®, we are able to highlight more responsible formulas to our clients — formulas aligned with eco-conscious consumption — while supporting our partners in the transition toward more sustainable cosmetics.

Committed to social performance

An ecological and technical transition necessarily leads to a social transition. To reconcile economic performance and ecology, we are committed to a more advanced Social Performance model.

The aim is to foster the development of our employees’ skills, based on a healthy work environment and a fulfilling working environment.

In accordance with our values, we are committed to equal treatment of our employees. In this respect, for the year 2024, the gender equality index of Laboratoires BEA is 79 points out of 100, which is above the minimum required by law.

Finally, to build constructive and sustainable relationships with all our stakeholders, we reaffirm our responsible and fair practices based on Business and Customer Ethics.

OUR CSR APPROACH ASSESSED

After achieving the Gold rating in 2021, we are pleased to announce that we have just been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum medal. This marks a new milestone in our CSR performance.

Certified expertise

ISO quality

Quality is at the heart of the company’s and its employees’ concerns. Laboratoires BEA have been ISO 9001 certified since March 2011 and are strongly committed to respecting the environment. Significant resources are devoted to strengthening our quality policy.

This is evidenced by the fact that in 2017 we obtained the ISO 22716 standard. This certification covers all aspects related to product quality and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in accordance with European regulation EC n°1223 / 2009 which imposes strict measures to guarantee the safety and conformity of cosmetic products.

Organic certifications

We offer a wide range of organic or natural cosmetic products, which can be certified by ECODETERGENT, ECOCERT, RSPO, NOP, BDIH and COSMOS. Bringing these standards to life on a daily basis is a constant challenge, and our employees are fully committed to this for the complete satisfaction of our customers.

SOLIDARITY ACTION PROGRAM

Plantons pour l’Avenir

We also support Plantons pour l’Avenir (“Planting for the Future”) association. This endowment fund, as part of its mission of general interest, supports reforestation projects, environmental awareness initiatives, and research and innovation efforts. It helps address current and future challenges related to forests and the wood industry in France by promoting sustainable forest management that balances production, biodiversity, and respect for users.
